Surprise Creek

More highway travel to get to Winton. We are now in jump up country. The picture doesn’t really show the jump ups clearly but it does show the extensive grass plains.

We also passed through the wild dog fence so are now in the “outside” area.

At Winton we went to the mines dept and got fossicking permits as we are going opal fossicking at Opalton in the next few days.

From Winton we turned south onto dirt roads (beauty). We are camped at Surprise Creek in the Bladensburg National Park. Photo is of crossing one of the many clay pans in the park. Just as well it was dry!

Lovely camp site on the creek bank. Lots of birds and not to many people. Its a bit rough getting in here so no caravans.

Cooked up a big meal of pasta and had an early night.
