We are now in type 2 road train territory. These are the really really big ones. Not allowed through the towns.
As the sign says get right off the road when they approach. We pull right over and stop in plenty of time so that they can see your intentions, that way if you are on a sealed road they stay right in the middle and you don’t get showered by gravel from 40+ wheels.
If it is a dirt road get of the road as far as possible and make sure all the windows are wound up. The photo opposite is of two road trains transhipping cattle just north of Mitchell.
